Frequently Asked Questions About Silver King Lodge

Fish - Seasons

When are the Salmon and Halibut in our area.

The cycle for salmon in our area is somewhere between four to six plus years for the bigger fish (Chinook) the smaller Coho, Pink, Sockeye are in the lower range .

This fish is normally in the area and can live to be quit old.

The fish that we mainly target are King Salmon (Chinook), Silvers (Coho), Halibut, Lingcod, Rock Cod and Yellow Eye. Other species of fish that are in the are include Sockeye, Pinks and Chum.

All fishing is set by the Canadian Department of Fisheries (DFO) and some openings and closures can come on fast depending on abundance so it is a good idea to stay in touch with the lodge normally there are very few closures that are not know ahead of time.
